Markey Pathway Course in Heart Failure

چکیده

Hypertrophy of cardiac muscle is a fundamental response to any condition that causes the heart to work harder. It can arise from a pressure overload state (e.g., systemic hypertension or aortic stenosis), a volume overload state (e.g., mitral or aortic regurgitation), a state in which substantial ventricular muscle has been lost to infarcts and the remaining muscle must do more work, or conditions in which the muscle itself has been injured directly and cannot pump blood to meet metabolic demands without undergoing some compensatory changes. In hypertrophy, sarcomeres can be added both in series and in parallel orientations depending, in part, on the extent of ventricular dilatation that may also occur. Much progress has been made in identifying chemical and mechanical signals, receptors for these signals, and signal transduction pathways that mediate the hypertrophic response. These include stretch, 1-adrenergic pathways, and pathways activated by various growth factors including angiotensinII, endothelin, and growth hormone.

Exercise training has restorative potential on myocardial energy metabolism in rats with chronic heart failure

Objective(s): Exercise training is a well-known accelerator for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF). The current study aimed to investigate the restorative effects of aerobic interval training (AIT) intervention on myocardial energy metabolism in CHF rats. Materials and Methods: Post-myocardial infarction (MI) heart failure animal model was established. The Sprague-Dawley rats were ran...

The effect of aerobic exercise on MMP-2 / miR-21 signaling pathway of cardiac fibrosis in elderly rats

Background :The concept of survival has changed since the twentieth century to guarantee quality of life in the twenty-first century (1). Aging is associated with a certain degree of interstitial fibrosis, which progresses to heart failure. Therefore, finding new and practical methods is an important and necessary help to reduce heart tissue fibrosis in the elderly (2). Providing mechanisms by ...

گزارش یک مورد آدنوکارسینوم آدرنال با تظاهرات هیپرکورتیزولیسم و نارسایی قلبی

Introduction: Adrenocortical carcinoma is a rare and severe malignant tumor that in 60% of cases are functional and the most common clinical manifestation is Cushing's syndrome with a progressive course. The only treatment is surgical removal of the entire tumor and effec-tiveness of medical treatments, including mitotane and chemotherapy for survival is still questionable.Case Report: A 36-y...

THE EFFECT OF 4 WEEKS’ AEROBIC TRAINING ON THE CONTENT OF MTORC1 SIGNALING PATHWAY PROTEINS IN HEART TISSUE OF TYPE 1 DIABETES RATS

Background: The mTORC1 pathway is one of the important pathways for protein synthesis in the heart, which can lead to physiological or pathological hypertrophy. Diabetes can lead to defects in this pathway. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of 4 weeks’ aerobic training on the content of mTORC1 signaling pathway proteins in heart tissue of type 1 diabetes rats. Methods: In this ...

High-Output Heart Failure Due to an Iliac Arterio-Venous Fistula in Mycotic Aneurysm

Herein, we report a patient with arterio-venous fistula secondary to mycotic aneurysm, causing high output heart failure. The patient had one-year history of refractory heart failure and recurrent pulmonary edema. This presentation is a good example of curative surgically treatable cause of high-output congestive heart failure.Iran J Med Sci 2005; 30(1): 41-44. Keywords ● Arterio-venous fistula...
